StAR Council to Award Year-End Funds to 8 Area Charities

St. Augustine Regional Council will be closing its nonprofit organization as of the end of December 2017.  In celebration of its contributions to the community, a farewell gathering will be held on December 19th at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Historic St. Augustine. Invited guests for recipient organizations will be attending.

StAR Council will be awarding checks to nonprofits benefiting from our annual Bratini Fundraising event and other activities. Those benefiting include:

  • Artbreakers – who will resume the Bratini tradition in 2018
  • Pink Heals
  • Augustine Youth Services
  • Project SOS
  • Johns County Legal Aide
  • The ARC St Johns
  • Home Again St. Johns
  • SAFE

Accomplishments from 2012 to date include the successful production of the St. Augustine Chalk Walk (Paseo Pastel) during the 450th three year celebrations. Quarterly the group supported Home Again St. Johns’ Dining with Dignity Program and annually provided funds to Art Breakers and Pink Heals for cancer patients and their families. The group additionally recognized outstanding community volunteers with their annual meeting and enjoyed monthly talks from community leaders about the assets of St. Johns County.
